Masonry is one of the oldest construction materials, is very durable, and often misunderstood.  The presentation will discuss historic masonry code requirements, the evolution of engineering design, and current code requirements relative to historic masonry.  The presentation will include practices for the evaluation and testing of historic masonry facades and case studies.  


Jason Coleman, PE, CDT

Jason Coleman is a licensed Professional Engineer in 4 states with more than 19 years of restoration experience. He is the Director of Restoration for Philadelphia based O’Donnell & Naccarato Structural Engineers.  He is active in several professional organizations and is the Vice President for the Delaware Valley Chapter of the International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI) and was recently elected to the National Board of Directors.  Jason currently serves as secretary for ICRI Technical Committee 410 “Masonry”.  He has also served on the ICRI Technical Committee 150 “Guide to the Code for the Assessment, Repair, and Rehabilitation of Concrete Buildings”.  He is a member of ASTM E06 Committee on Performance of Buildings.
In addition to being a licensed structural engineer, Jason holds a Rope Access Lead Technician Certification from the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians and a Construction Document Technician Certification from the Construction Specification Institute.  Jason was awarded “2014 Engineer of the Year” by the Lehigh Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers.

7:15 pm Presentation
