Darin L. Gatti PE will speak on several recent and current projects, discussing the various
challenges each project presents to the project team. He will also discuss the challenges
of future projects on the horizon for the Streets Department. Some of the current projects
to be discussed will be the emergency repair of the Lincoln Drive retaining wall, the
construction of the 40th St Bridge, the design of the Willow Grove Avenue Bridge, and
the design of the integral abutments of the Montgomery Avenue Bridge.
Mr. Gatti, PE is the Chief Bridge and Transportation Engineer for the Philadelphia
Streets Dept. He started with the Streets Department Bridge Section in 1982 after
graduating from Drexel University with a bachelors degree in Civil Engineering. In 2007
he was promoted to Chief Transportation Engineer and now manages both the Bridge
Section and Transportation Engineering for the Streets Dept. He has been very active
with ASCE Committees and served as past President of the Philadelphia Section ASCE.
